BD8 Block Occupancy Detector

The BD8 Block Occupancy Detector is a state of the art train detection system which has the following features:
Detects trains in up to 8 separate blocks, up to 3 amps/block.
Works with DCC (Digital Command Control), DC or AC train power.
Provides occupancy detection for ABS, APB & CTC signaling when used with our separate MSC Master Signal Controller boards. No computer or software required.
Provides OCCUPIED and VACANT outputs for each block.
Can detect any engine or rolling stock that draws at least 200 microamps.
Detects by monitoring current to each block.
Operates LED's using the on-board regulated 5 volt supply and external current limiting resistors.
Provides occupancy detection for computerized layouts. Requires separate computer interface board.
Can also operate bulbs, relays to output logic signals to other circuitry.
Outputs can switch 200 milliamps at up to 16 volts DC.
Furnished completely assembled, with mounting hardware.
Built in self-test functions to assist in installation and trouble shooting.

MSC Master Signal Controller

Our Master Signal Controller (MSC) is the latest in the series of state of the art signaling products for model railroads. It is THE ANSWER for someone who wants fully functioning, prototypical trackside signaling on their layout.
Has 18 different built-in layout track configurations, and generates typical ABS, APB & CTC signal aspects.
Uses our BD8, or other compatible occupancy detectors, to provide train detection.
Controls four to six signal heads, depending on track configuration selected.
Computers and software are NOT required.
Directly operates LED's using the on-board voltage regulator and external resistors.

GCC Grade Crossing Controller

The Grade Crossing Controller is a module which completely controls a highway grade crossing protection equipment. The GCC performs the following functions:
Detects trains approaching the grade crossing, and while blocking the road.
Starts flasher and bell audio outputs, and activates the output to lower the gates when the train enters an approach block.
Digitally synthesized audio is the MOST PROTOTYPICAL BELL SOUND available - ever.
Activates the gate raise signal after the train clears the road. Stops the bell and flasher outputs when the gates are raised.
Expandable to a total of 8 tracks crossing the road.
Manual gate raise and lower inputs to allow the crew to operate the gates when the train is stopped.
Can be used with or without operating crossing gates.
Combines grade crossing detection with your signaling system occupancy detection, if any.
Accessory in development to display the speed of a train as it passes the road.

GCX Grade Crossing Expander

The Grade Crossing Expander is a module used to expand grade crossing protection to include additional tracks. Each module performs the following functions:
Expands protection to include one additional track per module.
Detects trains approaching the grade crossing, and while blocking the road.
Uses the Grade Crossing Controller to operate the flashing crossbucks, sound the bell, and control the gates.
Up to 7 GCX modules can be added to a single crossing to protect a total of 8 tracks.
Combines grade crossing detection with your signaling system occupancy detection, if any.

TSI Train Speed Indicator

The TSI Train Speed Indicator is an accessory which can be added to a GCC to give a digital display of train speed as a train passes through the crossing. Its functions are:
Works with any scale.
Display 0-99 scale miles per hour.
Remote display can be located on a control panel or the fascia panel near the grade crossing.
If multiple trains arrive at the crossing, the first one detected will have its speed measured.
Rearms itself to capture another train's speed after displaying a speed reading for an adjustable time interval.


DWS Detectable Wheelsets

Detectable Wheelsets are used to cause occupancy detectors to detect rolling stock that would normally not be detected. They perform the following functions:
Draws a very small current from the track that activates sensitive occupancy detector circuitry.
Simply replace 1 or 2 existing wheelsets in your existing trucks.
Uses high-quality, non-magnetic NWSL wheelsets with pointed axles.
Many hundreds of detectable cars (depends on track voltage) will draw less than one amp of track current.
Available from stock for HO and N-scales, in scale diameters of 33" and 36".
N-scale wheelsets are available with both standard axle lengths.


SMA Signal Mounting Adapters

Signal mounting adapters simplify the job of installing signals on your layout. They perform the following functions:
Provides secure mounting and strain relief for fine signal mast wires.
Each mounting kit includes typical current limiting resistors for use with a 5-volt signal supply.
Allows assembly of signals and resistors at your workbench. NEVER DO THIS WORK UNDER YOUR LAYOUT AGAIN!
Provides reliable mounting for LED current limiting resistors.
Provides secure attachment and strain relief for cable to signal control circuitry.
Works with our signal control products or controllers from other manufacturers.
Allows attachment of cable to signal controller cable ABOVE the layout!
Available for single and double head Color Light (CL), Position Light (PL), Color Position Light (CPL) and Searchlight (SL) signals.
